Talent Yoshino Chitose visited the training facility of women’s professional wrestling promotion Marigold in Tokyo on October 10, taking part in a joint training session with reigning champion Miku Aono.
The opportunity came after Chitose attended a Marigold event in May. She was introduced over the arena’s public-address system, drawing an enthusiastic reaction from the crowd. That appearance helped pave the way for a training session alongside Aono.
Chitose Shows Off Her Kickboxing Skills
Chitose arrived wearing a set of ring gear previously used by Aono. She has practiced kickboxing for approximately three years, originally taking it up as a way to lose weight, and demonstrated sharp, powerful kicks during the session. She also worked on pad drills, sweating through the training.
Afterward, Chitose smiled as she reflected on the experience.
“I could feel the springiness of the ring, and it was different from my usual training,” she said.
Aono was impressed by Chitose’s technique, praising her ability to kick effectively with both legs.
“She can kick properly with both her right and left legs. That’s amazing,” Aono said.
Could Chitose Join Marigold?
Although no decision has been made about her future, Chitose indicated that she remains open to joining the promotion. A large number of reporters attended the session, highlighting the interest surrounding the possibility of her entering professional wrestling.
“With this many photos being taken and everyone’s expectations being raised, I’ve found myself thinking, ‘What if nothing comes of it?’” Chitose said.
She added that fans had been leaving comments asking her to switch to professional wrestling, and admitted that the idea had long interested her.
“I’ve been interested in it for a long time,” she said.
Aono welcomed the possibility, telling Chitose, “We’ll be waiting for you.”
However, Chitose was also clear-eyed about the demands of the sport. Having watched professional wrestling firsthand, she realized that it was not something she could casually decide to try without understanding the commitment involved.
“After actually watching the matches, I realized this isn’t a world where you can simply say, ‘Maybe I’d like to give it a try,’” she said. “If I do make my debut, I’ll want to train intensely!”
For now, Chitose’s potential wrestling career remains undecided, but her latest training session has given fans another reason to watch her next move.
