About This Location

Norosan Starry Sky Observatory is a quiet viewpoint on Mount Noro in Kure City, Hiroshima.

From this mountain area, visitors can enjoy wide views of the Seto Inland Sea, the surrounding islands, and the night scenery of coastal Hiroshima.

While Mount Haigamine is more famous as a night-view spot in Kure, Norosan Starry Sky Observatory is much less known. Even many people in Hiroshima may not be familiar with this place, which makes it feel like a hidden viewpoint.

This location is best visited by car, especially at night. Although hiking routes exist in the Mount Noro area, walking up after dark is not recommended because mountain roads and trails can be dangerous at night.

The observatory is especially beautiful on clear evenings, when visitors may be able to enjoy both the lights of the coastline and the quiet atmosphere of the mountain sky.

Recommended time:
Clear evening to night

For photographers, this is a good place to capture a different side of Kure — mountain views, Seto Inland Sea scenery, quiet night lights, and a peaceful atmosphere away from the usual sightseeing routes.
