About This Location

Aki-Kofuji is a 278-meter-high mountain on Ninoshima Island, just south of central Hiroshima. Its name means “Little Fuji of Aki,” referring to its distinctive Fuji-like shape.

The hike to the summit takes approximately 1–2 hours depending on your pace and route. Although the mountain is relatively low and suitable for beginners, the trail is not always well maintained. Some sections are steep and can become slippery, especially after rain.

Proper hiking or walking shoes are strongly recommended. Sandals are not suitable for this trail.

From the summit, you can enjoy panoramic views of Hiroshima City, the Seto Inland Sea, nearby islands, and, on clear days, Miyajima. It is also a great location for photography, particularly for capturing the islands and coastal scenery from above.
