Hidden Higanbana River Spot / 秘密の彼岸花スポット

Hidden Higanbana River Spot is a quiet riverside location in the Hongō area of Mihara City.

This is not a famous sightseeing destination, but a small seasonal landscape known mainly by local people.

Around the beginning of October, wild higanbana (red spider lilies) bloom naturally along the riverside.

What makes this place especially unique is the presence of white higanbana flowers growing together with the traditional red ones. Even many Japanese people rarely see naturally growing white higanbana.

Unlike a maintained flower garden, this scenery exists as part of the local landscape — appearing only for a short period each year.

彼岸花の川辺スポットは、広島県三原市本郷町にある、地元の人も知らない私の小さな穴場です。

観光名所として整備された場所ではありませんが、毎年10月初旬になると、川沿いに自生する彼岸花が一斉に咲き、秋ならではの美しい風景が広がります。

この場所の特徴は、一般的な赤い彼岸花だけでなく、白い彼岸花も自生していることです。自然の中で赤と白の彼岸花が並んで咲く光景は珍しく、日本人でも目にする機会はあまり多くありません。

花壇として整備された公園とは異なり、この景色は地域の自然の中に溶け込むように存在しています。毎年わずかな期間だけ現れる、季節限定の風景を楽しめるのが魅力です。

10月初旬頃がおすすめです。開花時期はその年の気候によって前後するため、訪れる前に開花状況を確認すると安心です。
