Otake Factory Nightscape – ENEOS & Daicel / 大竹工場夜景・ENEOS＆ダイセル

This unnamed photography spot in Otake’s coastal industrial district offers close views of the illuminated factories around the border of Hiroshima and Yamaguchi prefectures.

Across the Oze River, visitors can see the towers, pipes and bright industrial lights of the ENEOS Marifu Refinery in Waki. The nearby Daicel Otake Factory provides another impressive factory nightscape, with its densely packed steel structures taking on a futuristic appearance after dark.

This is not a developed observation deck or tourist facility. The appeal lies almost entirely in the industrial scenery at night, so there is little reason to visit during the daytime. A standard or moderate telephoto lens is useful for isolating individual towers and structures, while a wide-angle lens can capture the wider industrial landscape.

There is no dedicated parking for the viewpoint. Do not block the road, touch factory fences, enter company or recycling-center property, or set up a tripod where it may interfere with traffic. Otake City officially promotes several factory-nightscape locations in the area but asks photographers to obey traffic rules and ensure the safety of those around them.

小瀬川の対岸には、和木町にあるENEOS麻里布製油所の巨大なプラントが広がり、無数の配管や塔、照明が夜空に浮かび上がります。また、近くにあるダイセル大竹工場も見どころのひとつで、複雑に組み合わさった鉄骨や設備がライトアップされ、まるで近未来都市のような景観をつくり出しています。

ここは展望台や観光施設ではなく、工場夜景の撮影・鑑賞を目的とした穴場スポットです。そのため、日中はあまり見どころがなく、訪れるなら日没後がおすすめです。標準から中望遠レンズを使えば工場の塔や配管を印象的に切り取ることができ、広角レンズでは工業地帯全体のスケール感を表現できます。

専用駐車場はありません。路上駐車や交通の妨げになる場所への駐車は避け、工場のフェンスに触れたり、企業の敷地やリサイクル施設へ立ち入ったりしないよう注意してください。また、三脚を使用する際も歩行者や車両の通行を妨げないよう十分配慮しましょう。
