Kyukamura Taishakukyo / 休暇村帝釈峡

Kyukamura Taishakukyo is a peaceful highland resort surrounded by the forests and valleys of Taishakukyo. Guests can stay in the main hotel or rent a private cottage, making it a particularly good-value choice for families and small groups.

The five-person cottages are priced per cottage rather than per guest. As a rough guide, a cottage may cost around ¥16,000 per night on some dates, although prices vary depending on the season and accommodation plan. The cottages include a kitchen, bathroom, cooking equipment and a private outdoor barbecue area. Meals can also be booked at the main building.

One of the highlights is the restaurant buffet, which features a wide selection of dishes made with ingredients and regional specialities from Hiroshima and the Setouchi area. The resort is also far from major city lights, making it an excellent place to enjoy and photograph the night sky. Stargazing events are regularly held, and the Milky Way may be visible when weather conditions are favourable.

Visiting by car is strongly recommended, especially for travellers who want to explore Taishakukyo, roadside stations and other rural attractions along the way. The resort is about 15 minutes by car from Tojo Interchange and offers free parking. Public transportation is possible but requires careful planning: a complimentary shuttle is available from JR Tojo Station or the Tojo bus stop if reserved by the previous day.

International visitors are welcome. Foreign guests who do not have an address in Japan must present their passports at check-in, and the accommodation is required to record the passport information and retain a copy under Japanese regulations.

休暇村帝釈峡は、帝釈峡の豊かな自然に囲まれた高原リゾートです。本館のホテルに加え、一棟貸しのコテージも利用できるため、家族旅行やグループ旅行にも人気があります。

5人用コテージは1人あたりではなく1棟ごとの料金設定となっており、宿泊日やプランによって異なりますが、平日には1泊約16,000円前後で利用できる場合もあります。コテージにはキッチンやバスルーム、調理器具が備えられているほか、専用のバーベキュースペースも利用できます。食事付きプランを選べば、本館レストランで食事を楽しむことも可能です。

本館のビュッフェは、この宿の大きな魅力のひとつです。広島県や瀬戸内地域の食材や郷土料理を取り入れたメニューが豊富に並び、地元ならではの味覚を楽しめます。

周囲には街の明かりがほとんどないため、星空観賞や星景写真の撮影にも最適な環境です。定期的に星空観察会も開催されており、天候に恵まれれば天の川を肉眼で見ることもできます。

アクセスは車がおすすめです。帝釈峡周辺の観光地や道の駅などもあわせて巡りやすく、東城インターチェンジから車で約15分、無料駐車場も利用できます。公共交通機関で訪れることもできますが、JR東城駅または東城バス停から運行される無料送迎バスは前日までの予約が必要です。

海外からの旅行者も宿泊できます。日本国内に住所を持たない外国人旅行者は、チェックイン時にパスポートの提示が必要です。これは日本の旅館業法に基づく手続きであり、宿泊施設ではパスポート情報の記録およびコピーの保管が義務付けられています。
