Sagotani Farm / サゴタニ牧農

Surrounded by the mountains of Yuki, Sagotani Farm produces fresh local milk using carefully grown forage from its own fields. The farm practices circular agriculture, turning cow manure into compost, using it to enrich the soil, and growing nutritious grass that is fermented into silage for the cattle.

Its rich, flavorful milk is also used to make delicious gelato and soft-serve ice cream. It is a relaxing countryside stop where visitors can enjoy fresh dairy products while experiencing the natural landscape of northwestern Hiroshima.

The farm is located in a rural mountain area with very limited public transportation. There is no practical bus access, and taking a taxi would be costly and inconvenient. Visiting by car is strongly recommended.

サゴタニ牧場は、広島市佐伯区湯来町の豊かな山々に囲まれた牧場です。自社牧草地で育てた牧草を牛の飼料として活用し、新鮮で風味豊かな牛乳を生産しています。

牧場では、牛のふんを堆肥として畑に還元し、その堆肥で育てた牧草を発酵させてサイレージにし、再び牛の飼料として利用する循環型農業に取り組んでいます。自然環境に配慮しながら、おいしい牛乳づくりを続けているのが特徴です。

牧場で生産された牛乳は、ジェラートやソフトクリームにも使用されています。濃厚でありながら後味はすっきりとしており、湯来の自然を眺めながら味わう牧場スイーツは、この場所ならではの楽しみです。ドライブの途中に立ち寄って、のんびりとした里山の雰囲気を満喫するのにもおすすめです。

牧場は山間部にあり、公共交通機関でのアクセスは非常に限られています。実質的に利用しやすいバス路線はなく、タクシーを利用すると料金も高額になりやすいため、車で訪れることをおすすめします。
