About This Location

A quiet local shrine in Ando, Asaminami-ku, with a long history connected to the Takeda clan. According to local records, Tanakayama Shrine is said to have been founded in 1299, when Takeda Nobumune built his castle at Kanayama and enshrined the deity to protect the unlucky northeast direction.

It is not a major sightseeing spot, but for visitors interested in lesser-known local history, shrines, and quiet corners of Hiroshima, Tanakayama Shrine is a meaningful place to stop by.
