Masaya Yano’s Player Panel Removed from Carp Road Following Police Search

The player introduction panel for Hiroshima Toyo Carp infielder Masaya Yano has been removed from Carp Road after police searched his residence and related locations. The move has drawn comparisons with a similar case involving former Carp player Ryutaro Hatsuki earlier this season.

The player introduction panel for Hiroshima Toyo Carp infielder Masaya Yano has been removed from Carp Road in Hiroshima.

As of April 2026, Yano’s panel was displayed between those of Elehuris Montero and Shosei Nakamura. However, on the morning of July 31, it was confirmed that the panel had been removed.

The change comes one day after the Carp announced that Hiroshima Prefectural Police had conducted searches of Yano’s residence and other related locations as part of an ongoing investigation.

Earlier this year, former Carp player Ryutaro Hatsuki’s player panel was also removed following his arrest in a separate case involving designated drugs. His contract with the club was later terminated.

While the circumstances of the two cases are different, the removal of Yano’s panel has attracted attention because of the similarity to the earlier incident.

The Hiroshima Toyo Carp have stated that they are fully cooperating with the police investigation. At this time, the investigation remains ongoing, and no further announcement has been made regarding Yano’s future with the club.
