Hiroshima Carp Face a Brutal August: 24 Outdoor Games in the Summer Heat

The Hiroshima Toyo Carp are facing one of the toughest schedules in the league this August, with 24 of their games scheduled to be played outdoors during Japan’s intense summer heat.

The Hiroshima Toyo Carp are set for a challenging August, not only because of the opponents they will face, but also because of the extreme summer conditions.

From August 1 onward, the Carp will play 24 outdoor games during a one-month stretch. While other teams have a mix of indoor and outdoor stadiums, Hiroshima will spend almost the entire month under the hot summer sky.

The schedule includes long stretches at Mazda Zoom-Zoom Stadium Hiroshima, as well as road games at outdoor stadiums such as Yokohama Stadium and Meiji Jingu Stadium.

Outdoor vs Indoor Games After the 2026 All-Star Break
Team Indoor Games : Outdoor Games
Giants 15: 12
Tigers 12: 15
Swallows 12: 15
BayStars 6:21
Carp 3 :24←!?
Dragons 18: 9

The numbers tell the story: while some teams will spend significant time in air-conditioned indoor stadiums, the Carp will spend most of their August playing outside.

Japan’s summer heat can be severe, with temperatures often exceeding 35°C (95°F), making hydration and recovery extremely important for players.

For Hiroshima fans, this may become a true test of endurance — not only for the players, but also for everyone cheering from the stands.

The Carp's August challenge: survive the heat, and keep fighting. ⚾🔥
